Notice of Meeting

The next meeting of the Western New York Southern Ontario Repeater Council will be held on Sunday, October 5th, 2014, at 11:30 AM. Once available, you can get the agenda from the Minutes and Agenda page.

The meeting will be held in a room at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 418, at 294 Vine Street in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Talk-in will use VE3NRS on 147.240 MHz with + offset and a PL of 107.2 Hz.

Repeater Information Update

Don’t forget your repeater update form. It is requested that this be filed annually. This is an important form for maintaining the Council’s database that is used to notify other organizations.

Membership Renewals

As the Council will only be meeting semi-annually, please take notice and submit your dues.

2. Directions from common origin:
    From Hamilton
  • Take the QEW to Niagara / St. Catharines,
  • Take exit "49" onto Hwy 406 and proceed all the way to Welland,
  • * Turn right at the lights onto East Main St (near the Tunnel) and head into town,
  • Turn left onto King St at the lights (just before the lift bridge over the old canal),
  • Travel along King and past the second set of lights (Lincoln St),
  • The hospital is on the left on Third St.(across from the Arena).
    From Niagara Falls Bridges
  • Get to Lundy’s Lane and take it west all the way to the intersection with Hwy 406,
  • Turn left and take Hwy 406 south all the way into Welland,
  • Follow the direction from Hamilton from the point with the *.
    From Peace Bridge / Buffalo
  • Take the QEW to exit "12" onto Netherby Rd,
  • Go west on Netherby and through the Tunnel,
  • Once through, turn right at first set of lights.
  • Travel north to first lights and turn right on Ontario Rd.
  • Go to next lights and turn left at King St.
  • Proceed along King St until you reach Third St, the Hospital is on the right hand side.
    Parking
  • Free parking in the lot on the property.
    From Hamilton:
  • Take Q.E.W. to Niagara and take exit "44" right (south) onto the South Service Rd (Dunlop Dr) running east towards Niagara St.,
  • Turn left from the off ramp and keep in the left (western-most) lane ready for a (sort of) left turn onto the fork on Vine St.,
  • Proceed along Vine St. through the intersection with Carlton St until reaching the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 418 on the eastern (right hand) side of Vine St.
    From Niagara Falls NY:
  • Take I-190 to Canada, clear Canada Customs at the Queenston Lewiston bridge and then proceed along Hwy 405 to merge with Q.E.W to Toronto / St. Catharines.
  • In St. Catharines take exit "44" right (north) onto the North Service (Dieppe) Rd running west towards Niagara St.,
  • Turn right from off ramp and make immediate lane change for a (sort of) left turn onto the fork onto Vine St.,
  • Proceed along Vine St. through the intersection with Carlton St until reaching the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 418 on the eastern (right hand) side of Vine St.
    From Hamilton:
  • Take QEW to Peace Bridge in Fort Erie & cross into U.S.A., then keep right to
  • follow the directions for From Buffalo.
    From Buffalo:
  • Take I-190 S, towards junction with NY State Thruway/I-90, then
  • Take exit 52 to merge onto I-90 E toward Albany/Buffalo, then
  • Take I-90 E exit 52E to merge onto Walden Ave (E) toward Cheektowaga, then
  • Turn right at Rt 277 (Union Rd), then slight right onto ramp to Broadway Ave, Rt 130, and
  • Your destination, 3359 Broadway Ave, is ahead on the right.
    From Hamilton:
  • Take QEW to Niagara / St Catharines
  • Take exit "37" onto Hwy 405 and proceed to the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge,
  • Take the 190 South towards Buffalo and get off at the next exit for "31" and head East towards Lockport,
  • Turn left when you get to William Gregory Bypass (lights) where you should see the GM Harriston Division Plant on left side,
  • Go to the second street called Sunset and turn right,
  • Take Sunset Drive to Niagara Street Extension and Niagara County Emergency Services training facility should be near the intersection.
    From Buffalo:
  • Take 78 / Transit Road North to Lockport,
  • Go into town and cross bridge in town center.
  • Take Niagara, the third street on your left
  • Follow Niagara out till you get to the training facility.
    From Hamilton
  • Take the QEW to Niagara / St. Catharines,
  • Take exit "49" onto Hwy 406 and proceed all the way to Welland,
